While the London Marathon we know and love cannot take place on Sunday 4 October, Alex is still going to run in the virtual 40th annual London Marathon, on the same day, in the same spirit, but in a way that not only helps us with desperately needed fundraising, but also shows the spirit of our community is not dimmed and burns as brightly as ever.
26.2 miles equates to 42.165 kilometres and Alex is planning to run the virtual London Marathon, as a series of eight 5ks over the course of the day. He is also hoping to invite eight of his friends to run each leg with him, for support and help in raising £3,500 for our mental health projects. If you see Alex in Gravesend, either in training or on the day of the run, please do encourage him, and if you can, please help him to reach his fundraising target.
Alex is a Sales & Marketing Consultant for PwC UK.
Back in 2018
On Sunday, 22 April 2018 Chrystal Ding ran the London Marathon for Network for Africa and raised over £3,000. Looking back, Chrystal told us ‘I had always thought of myself as one of those people who just doesn’t get on with sport and certainly not with long distance. A week or two into training, once I had cleared the 5k mark, I realised this was nonsense. The biggest surprise to me was quite how much I would enjoy the training and the sheer joy of knowing that there was something I would do 4 times a week that would sharpen my mind and my focus and bring me peace in a way I’d never experienced before’.
5k Runs | 10k Runs | Half Marathons | Marathons | Ultra Marathons | Trail Runs | Fun Runs | Mud Runs
