2022 – Make Mental Health & Well-Being For All A Global Priority
Network for Africa’s blog for October 2022 highlighted the three local organisations that we work alongside – SURF, BNUU and Conforti. They are providing vital community mental health services in Rwanda, Uganda & Sierra Leone.
We shared the following image on our social media sites (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram).
2021 – ‘Mental Health In An Unequal World: Together We Can Make A Difference’
Network for Africa’s blog for October 2021 explored mental health inequalities across Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Uganda and what Network for Africa is doing to address them.
We also used the following images on our social media sites (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) to highlight the gap in provisions between wealthy and poor nations.

2020 – ‘Move For Mental Health: Let’s Invest’
Network for Africa’s blog for October 2020 looked at Sierra Leone and why the need for investment there is so crucial.
We added videos to our social media platforms (these can also be viewed on our YouTube channel), and these enabled us to share the voices from some of the participants of our mental health project in Port Loko, Sierra Leone. They talked about what having access to mental health support means to them and their families and communities.
2019 – ‘Working Together To Prevent Suicide’
In 2019, World Mental Health Day raised awareness and provided a worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides with various activities around the world, one of which urged people to spend 40 seconds helping to offer hope as ‘every 40 seconds someone loses their life to suicide‘.
Network for Africa’s blog for October 2019 told Sally’s story of her own attempted suicide, and we used the image below to highlight her story on our social media platforms.
